KING GEORGE DISCOVERY - Peace Of Mind, SWEDEN 1968 (SHADOKS 136)
LP 500 numbered / heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing / 2 page inserts King George Discovery - Peace Of Mind, was recorded in Sweden in 1968 with the US musician King George Clemens on guitar & vocals. A close friendship to Jimi Hendrix, who toured also Sweden in 1968, dropped many tracks from the release plan when the band was recording an album which also came out that year. All tracks who where competing with the music of Jimi Hendrix was not released, until now. A collector from England found the unknown tracks who where pressed only as a demo LP for the band. What a great find. Some tracks where placed on youtube and collectors where starting raving about this album. It is soo good, the guitar work is amazing, as psychedelic as it can get. We could release this album in cooperation with King George Clemens and we are proud to have this treasure released on vinyl and later onto CD. It's just great! One of the most important release this year for sure! |

ESTRELLA DE MARZO - A Los Ninos Con Amor, Bolivia 1974 (SHADOKS 143) LP 500 numbered / heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing / 2 page inserts Most do not know much about music from Bolivia, like us. What's flashing our minds are the Andes, La Paz and flute music by Indios. But there are some great rock & underground bands such as Wara, Climax and most of all Estrella De Marzo. This album (still unknown to most collectors) is not only special because it's from an country not many listeners know much about. This album is so great, so much underground, so unique and well crafted, that it goes into a strong competition with most "classic underground releases" from South America. If you are in to wild fuzz guitar ala Zappa, and if you like Kissing Spell from Chile, beautiful vocals with strong lyrics and great beats , you will love this album. The early Pink Floyd has also influenced this album For us it was one of the big musical discoveries for this year. Every track is great, high spirit progressive underground rock, as good as it can be. This album "A Los Ninos Con Amor" (to children with love) was recorded in 1974 with, keyboards, guitars, drums, bass & vocals. |

PEACEPIPE - Same, USA 1972 (SHADOKS 029) LP 500 numbered / heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing / 2 page inserts In 1995 Rockadelic has released this album on vinyl. Finally here it is with all extra tracks, photos etc. on LP again. Extra heavy Psych, great guitars and vocals. This unreleased late 1960s heavy guitar-psych classic is probably (along with Cold Sun), also a previous Rockadelic LP, with widest appeal among mainstream psych fans. Despite being just 3 guys with no bass player, a dense wall of hard psychedelia is erected with moments as intense as Fraction. The opening "Sea of nightmares" is one of the best heavy psych tracks ever laid down, while cool remnants of teen garage and lounge/schmaltz add to the LP's underground appeal. Powerful, non-macho vocals and Jon Uzonyi's triple-tracked feedback guitars makes this blow away 20th Century Zoo, Savage Resurrection, Dragonfly, etc., stunning and solid. |

THE CHURCHILL DOWNS - Same, USA 1968 (SHADOKS 137) LP 500 numbered / heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing /2 page insert CD: in jewelbox. 1968 Hollywood, USA. The Churchill Downs recorded 16 great tracks at the studio from famous producer Gary S. Paxton. The band was very young at the time but the musical output was on the highest level you can imagine with a damn good production. How can a band like this not become famous is a mystery. Fantastic compositions, great multi vocal singing, strong guitars, organ, drums, bass, effects, everything you desire to get catchy Underground songs with tons of great ideas in it to make those songs unique and out of bounce and not middle of the road. It is just what we love about the productions of Phil Spector and Andrew Loog Oldham. The Churchill Downs are one of the best US unknown albums among Beauregard Ajax and Public Nuisance. With Don Adey on guitar & vocals, Gary Dalton Stovall guitar & vocals, Dirk Acree bass & vocals, Mick Newton keyboards & vocals, Al Stigler & Fred Darling on drums. If we could go back in time, lets say 40+ years and release this album in 1968 we would have been rich. Why this album was never been pressed is still a mystery. So for the first time ever those great songs made it onto vinyl. We love it. |

EUGENE CARNAN - Same, UK 1972 (SHADOKS 139)
LP 500 numbered / heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing /1 page insert CD: in jewelbox. Here is a great surprise for us. An unknown UK album with such a great musical potential. Musically it is a very powerful guitar dominated underground rock such as Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer, Dark or Grannie. The rarety factor is way above all those other rare UK album, which stay in low pressings of 99 copies and 15-20 such as Dark. This one has been pressed only 4 times ever. In September 1971 Eugene Carnan entered a UK-wide competition for “Best New Band” run by the famous Melody Maker magazine, they recorded the album in 1972 and took it to London to Eden Studios for a demo pressing and cut 4 acetates. Eugene Carnan a 3 piece band are from The Rhondda Valley, in South Wales, UK with guitar & vocals, bass and drums. All own composition. A killer album from beginning to end. |

BUMP - 2, USA 1971 (SHADOKS 133) LP 500 numbered / heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing / insert The new year starts with 2 new amazing unreleased LP's music lovers are waiting for a long time. BUMP 2 (the unreleased second album) was recoded in 1971, just a year later after the debut album, also on Pioneer Records and also produced by Gary A. Rubin. Paul Lupien - organ / George Runyan - bass, vocals / Alan Goldman - guitar / Jerome Charles Greenberg - drums recorded 8 great tracks which never came out so far. We could even use the original artwork. This is a fantastic prog / psychedelic monster LP, a mixture of dreamy organ psych with heavy fuzz bluster, very much like CA Quintet. Ghostly swirly organs, burning rough guitars, sound effects, fuzz/wahwah guitars, trippy lysergic vocals and great melodies. A killer album from start to end. |

TRÚBROT - Undir Áhrifum, ICELAND 1970 (SHADOKS 131) LP 500 numbered / heavy gatefold sleeve / 180 gram pressing /2 page insert CD: in jewelbox. In 1969 Trúbrot was the first supergroup ever founded in Iceland. After the début album with vocalist Shady Owens this is the second album released in 1970 without Shady on vocals. After a last concert in Iceland with the original line up they invited Led Zeppelin and became friends with Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. When Jimmy and Robert returned to their hotel at four o’clock in the morning they were amazed to discover that the sun was still shining bright. The sight of the midnight sun, the snow capped glaciers and the Icelandic geysers apparently inspired them to write The Immigrant Song for the third Led Zeppelin album. Trúbrot was very much influenced by the electric music of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young by Led Zeppelin and Keith Emerson. Trúbrot went to London to have Orange amplifiers custom-made for the band and to Copenhagen to record "Undir áhrifum" at the Wifoss Studio. The album became best album of 1970. Really amazing male English vocals, great arrangements, guitars, organ. Psychedelic/Progressive Rock of this best kind strongly influenced by British Underground. Trúbrot recorded 2 more albums which will be released on Shadoks too. Tony Branwell of Apple Records was saying these were one of the two best bands he had seen perform on stage in the preceding six months. |

KALEIDOSCOPE - Same, Mexico 1969 (SHADOKS 130) CD: in jewelbox. Kaleidoscope is one of best psychedelic album ever been recorded and among the other 2 rare albums (Mariani from USA and Dark from UK) perhaps the rarest. Enrique Rivas located all original members as well as the original artist of the cover. Shadoks Music signed a deal with the band, so we can put this baby out for the first time legit. Actually this band was not from Mexico. The musicians came from Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Spain and the album was recorded in 1967 in Dominican Republic. The manager took it to Mexico where it had a tiny release of 200 on the Orfeon label. They where friends of Addib Casta from Ladies WC, Venezuela, so one song is from Ladies WC the rest are all original composition. A collectors dream come true. The music is amazing heavy guitar based psychedelic of the best kind, the cover artwork restored and complete (bootlegs where heavy cropped) with original label artwork for the first time, plus many photos, band history, 2 poster. We are proud to have this baby our on our label. Please Enjoy! |

LOS OVNIS - Hippies, MEXICO 1968 (SHADOKS 135) LP 500 numbered / heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing / 2 x 2 page inserts / 1 poster When we are talking about really rare and great albums from Mexico, such as El Tarro de Mostaza, Kaleidoscope etc. Los Ovnis-Hippies is perhaps the second rarest one right after Kaleidoscope. The band already made 4 LPs with cover songs for the same label. The 1968 Summer Of Love and the political protest of the young rebel culture created the desire to produce a stronger album with own songs, heavier garage sounds and counter-culture lyrics. This album became something the Mexican society in 1968 was not ready for. It was too idealistic and too psychedelic to become popular and the original label released it with no promotion at all. That's why this album became so good and so rare. Los Ovins are 5 musicians from Mexico City . Strong garage songs, great Spanish vocals, amazing guitars, organ and rough sounds. Like a musical punch right in the face of the Mexican middle-class society. No more nice guys. |

QUESTION MARK - Be Nice To The People, Kenya 1974 (SHADOKS 095) CD: in jewelbox. Question Mark recorded this album in 1974 in Kenya, the land safari parks, of elephants & lions. 5 musicians, all English vocals, heavy fuzz guitar, 8 freakin tracks. If you think "BLO" and "WITCH" where great African albums, you will love this one. It beats most bands from Africa such as OFEGE, CHRISSY ZEBBY, RIKKI ILILONGA and MACK SIGIS PORTER, unless you are only in African rhythms and chanting. This album has mostly western style songs with great and heavy guitar sounds all over but with an strong African touch of course. Finally out on CD for the first time, GREAT! This CD version includes a massive interview with the band in the booklet |

O BANDO - Same, Brazil 1969 (SHADOKS 132) LP 500 numbered / heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing /2 page insert CD: in jewelbox. O Bando was recorded in 1969 in São Paulo by 5 guys and a beautiful singer Marisa Fossa. The production was state of the art hosted by the 3 top producer of Brazil. For 1969 it was recorded in Scatena studios in São Paulo with 8 channels equipment which was the best you can get at this time. The music has sophisticated brass arrangements very much like the same level as US bands Chicago Transit Authority, The Flock and Blood Sweat & Tears with the charme and rhythms of Brazil Exotics. If you like the album by Liverpool this one would be for you. A real summer record, should make the stoned Psychedelic listener move his hips and dance or at least nod their feet. Great guitars, smashing vocals, Samba rhythm, horns, tons of effects, a real trip to Brazilian underground music. One of the best! |

ELONKORJUU - Harvest Time, Finland 1972 (SHADOKS 127) LP 500 numbered / heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing CD: in jewelbox. Elonkorjuu came from Pori, Finland and was founded in 1969. At first the sessions were done in a rather dark cellar; the musicians were young, talented and highly motivated. Already in the same year Elonkorjuu won the second place at a competition at Helsinki´s House of Culture. Short time after this the band´s success grow very fast. They toured through whole of Finland and quickly were well known. One of the band´s highlights was the gig at the rock festival in Turku, where they did act big ahead of hundred thousands youths, who went wild about the phantastic band. At the end of the same year they decided to make an LP, titled "Harvest Time". This album recieved cult status of the progressive rock. The Finnish quintet Elonkorjuu are one of the many little-known bands that did heavy blues/psych with strong prog elements, drawing initially from the schools of Cream, Sabbath and Colosseum but expanding on those influences with soulful church organ and cutting guitar from leader Jukka Syrenius. A killer album from beginning to end. Heavy guitar work all over and great English vocals. |

EMBRUJO - Same, Chile 1971 (SHADOKS 129) LP 500 numbered / heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing /2 page insert CD: in jewelbox. The band KISSING SPELL changed name to EMBRUJO in early 1970 due the fact of the political climate in Chile in the because it was less than ideal for a band with an english name. EMBRUJO is the Spanish translation of the word Spell (bewitched). So Embrujo is the same band as Kissing Spell and the album came out on Arena Records in 1971. Among the great albums from Chile like Blops, Aguaturbia, Los Jaivas and Escombros, this album is just amazing, just like their first. Beautiful compositions and instrumentation, very well played, strong vocals and poetic lyrics, we would vote this album as one of the best from whole South America. Chile seems to be "the county" for extraordinary pop and underground songs going right into the heart. What a shame after 1973 until 1990 (Pinochet dictatorship ) no more bands could work anymore. We are missing a lot of great future albums by those bands. |

SHOES - One In Versailles, USA 1975 (SHADOKS 128) LP 500 numbered / heavy engraved sleeve / 180 gram pressing /2 page insert Shoes are formed in Zion, Illinois, in 1974 by brothers John and Jeff Murphy, and Gary Klebe. The Murphy brothers and Klebe were high school friends and decided to form a band following graduation. In the fall of 1974, Shoes was in its infancy as a band. Members Gary Klebe, John Murphy and Jeff Murphy had just completed their first official recording project, Heads or Tails, recorded in a basement on a Teac 4-channel tape machine. In college at this time, Gary was an architecture student signed up to study abroad at the campus in Versailles France. In his absence John and Jeff decided that it would be a fitting tribute and testament to their commitment to the new band, to record a new batch of songs in their newly established home base in Jeff’s small rented flat (referred to as La Cabane) and dedicate it to their pal Gary. The title would be One In Versailles, in his honor. The inspiration of Versailles, France became the basis of an imaginary long-distance romance between a boy and his overseas girlfriend. Despite the limited resources, limited equipment and strained working schedule, the elemental sounding One In Versailles proved to be a crucial link in the fundamental development of the band. The initial pressing of 300 copies have become a sought-after collector’s items among record collectors the world over. Appearing here, on vinyl for the first time since it’s limited, 1975 pressing, the songs of One In Versailles provide a look inside the very earliest days of the band and represent a snapshot in the development of Shoes, one of the first do-it-yourself bands to embrace and capitalize on the home-recording technologies. The Shoes have released of 20 recordings over the years. Really amazing album this is. Not so power-pop as the others. This has an underground charm which lots of heavy guitar, great vocals and and tight song-structure. It sails in-between an great Wave/Pop album with a touch of "Spoils Of War" avant-garde underground on a rough but clear ocean. Please check them here: http://www.blackvinyl.com |

SVANFRIDUR - What's Hidden There, Iceland 1972 (SHADOKS 124) LP 500 numbered / heavy gatefold sleeve / 180 gram pressing / 2 page insert CD: in jewelbox. The Icelandic prog-rock band Svanfrídur released only one album, recorded six months after they played their first gig. This short-lived band rapidly rose to fame, receiving rave reviews for live performances, but in fact their music was way ahead of its time. They were unable to seal a recording contract so they formed their own label - Swan Records. When the album ‘What’s Hidden There?’ was released in autumn 1972 it got mixed reviews and sold only a few hundred copies, leaving the band with a great album but sadly not the income they had been hoping for. Recorded at London’s Majestic Studios the album was cut and pressed in England. Perhaps one of the best heavy prog / underground album from Scandinavia with amazing guitar & all English vocals. Would have been a famous and successful album on Decca UK. |

TRÚBROT - Same, Iceland 1969 (SHADOKS 125) LP 500 numbered / heavy gatefold sleeve / 180 gram pressing /2 page insert CD: in jewelbox (plus 6 bonus tracks). Trúbrot was the first supergroup ever founded in Iceland. It was created in May 1969 when leading members of ‘Hljómar’ (Sounds) and ‘Flowers’ set out to create the finest Icelandic rock group of all time. Guitarist and composer Gunnar Thórgarson, bass player and singer Rúnar Júlíusson and lead vocalist Shady Owens of Hljómar had been plotting this for some months, along with organist Karl Sighvatsson and drummer Gunnar Jökull Hákonarson of Flowers, before the band’s genesis was announced publicly. These were troubled times and Trúbrot had countless hurdles to overcome before the band eventually fell apart early in 1973. After the début album was released in December 1969 by EMI. After this album vocalist Shady Owens announced that she was quitting. Trúbrot recorded 3 more albums which will be released on Shadoks too. Tony Branwell of Apple Records was saying these were one of the two best bands he had seen perform on stage in the preceding six months. Really cool underground album full of musical ideas and well-crafted music, male & female vocals. The music should hit the same listener as UK bands such as Blossom Toes, Billy Nichols, underground with a touch of pop |

ODMENN - Same, Iceland 1970 (SHADOKS 121) DoLP 500 numbered / heavy gatefold sleeve / 180 gram pressing / 4 page insert CD: in jewelbox. This selftitled album was the only one that Icelandic progressive rock trio Odmenn ever released. It was made at a critical point in Odmenn‘s history when the band members had agreed to take a sabbatical year while the guitarist studied law at the University of Iceland. They got together for the last time a year after the album was released and split up directly after having played only one gig. Odmenn was formed in early 1966 by the Johannsson brothers playing the most popular music clubs in Reykjavik. Most of Odmenn’s music could be categorised as protest songs or social studies touching topics like anti-war protest and fights against pollution, greed and deception balanced with more positive stances like hope for a better world with love and eternal brotherhood. "Psychedelic guitar pieces had become their trademark". Odmenn recorded this double album in Copenhagen with a release late December 1970. Odmenn made a great impression with their blooming mixture of energetic blues rock and was probably one of the best progressive rock bands in Northern Europe. 15 great songs released as a double album with massive 4 page insert and many photos never shown plus a long liner notes. |

JOHN & PHILIPA COOPER - The Cooperville Times, South Africa 1969 (SHADOKS 122) LP 500 numbered / glossy heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing / insert CD: in jewelbox. It was a long search to locate the rights for this album since it was not with EMI anymore. With the help of musicians and producers from The Third Eye and Freedoms Children we've found the original producer. He told us that the brother/sister band John & Philipa Cooper went shortly after the album was made to Britain and there it lost track. This amazing album has the same class as Billy Nichols, Duncan Browne and Blossom Toes. Many other musicians from S.A. where helping out. Every track is just great. Well composed underground songs, folk rock, effects, pop tunes just the right mixture for an album full of ideas and mastercraftly played. Perhaps one of the rarest albums from S.A. This album would have been a great success if it was produced in UK. It just has the right feel with the combination of great songs with an 60s art-vibe. Female / male vocals, Julian Laxton on guitar, keyboards, beside Jon & Philipa 8 more musicians on the album. This LP is just a perfect 1969 underground folk-rock album |

THE WITCH - Lazy Bones, ZAMBIA 1975 (LP SHADOKS 081 / CD QDK-MEDIA 050) LP limited / heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing BLUE VINYL CD: in jewelbox. Another out-of-nowhere African 70's rock discovery in the Blo mold. "Completely unknown band from Zambia, privately pressed on a small local label, this five-piece electric band plays a strong electric African underground style. Tons of wah wah-fuzz guitar in every track, African style beats and vocals and all original songs. If bands from Nigeria such as Blo and Ofege and bands from Zambia such as Rikki Ililonga and Chrissy Zebby are all traveling on the psychedelic highway at 100 mph, the Witch overtakes them with 120. On the cover we can read: if you're feeling depressed, low, disturbed, out-of-sorts, sad, frustrated or widely demented, then folks, we suggest you seek out a quiet place, indulge in some soothing meditation and cut away that headache by listening to this inspirational album. |

Amanaz was formed in 1973. 3 songs are in the native language Bemba, and 9 songs in English, recorded in Kitwe, the 3rd biggest city in Zambia up North. Musically is goes in the same direction as BLO, THE WITCH and QUESTION MARK, but this album is way cooler and stoned with amazing fuzz guitar all over which sounds like an African version of early CREAM. The cover make it look very traditional but after a few spins you are aware that this one is very special. It´s soo cool, so tight produced and easily to compare with UK underground albums with a touch of African beats. Still completely unknown, so this album has not been scored yet by the collectors scene. A real surprise. |

CAPTAIN MARRYAT - Same, UK 1974 (SHADOKS 114) CD: in jewelbox. Many people watching the ebay auctions where surprised seeing this album selling for the past few month 3 times for nearly 3500 Euro each. Before that, this album was completely unknown. Captain Marryat are from Glasgow, Scotland and recorded this demo album in 1974, released in a tiny pressing on the Thor label, hopefully to get an EMI or Chrysalis deal. They wanted to record only a single but came up with a complete album of self-composed tracks. Since it was not that easy for a Scottish band to get attention down in London, this album was the only pressing ever done and sold at band gigs only. 5 musicians, great organ, vocals, extra heavy fuzz-guitar, drums and bass, amazing underground songs, influenced by Deep Purple, Uriah Heep and Beggars Opera, a true lost classic. THE THIRD EYE - Awakening, South Africa 1969 (SHADOKS 115) LP 500 numbered / glossy heavy gatefold sleeve / 180 gram pressing / insert CD: in jewelbox. part 1: With the help of many music friends and a lot of patience we could finally arrange a deal to reissue the 3 albums by the South African band THE THIRD EYE for the first time. The original pressing came out on Polydor. Perhaps THIRD EYE is the best band from S.A. with the most innovative and complex music. Most music lovers would vote Freedoms Children as the biggest influence in S.A,. rock but THIRD EYE will share at least half of that cake. In cooperation with Dawn Selby (hammond organ) and her brother Ron (guitar) this project came to life again. They where based in Durban, a coastal city several hundred miles away from the recording and musical hub of Johannesburg and started playing in 1968. The first album AWAKENING came out in 1969 when the female organ player Dawn Selby was only 14 years old. Just imagine her age when you listen to the amazing organ and piano tracks. AWAKENING was released in 1969 followed by 2 more albums SEARCHING and BROTHER just one year later in 1970. What a musical output in such a short time. The band and composer must have sit on a volcano where they just waited to outburst their music onto the rock universe. AWAKENING is the most complex album of the 3 with great brass arrangements, piano, hammond organ, fuzz-guitar and vocals full of soul. Musically going in the direction of bands such as Electric Flag, The Flock's Dinosaur Swamps, Chicago, The Nice and Al Cooper. Pure Electric Underground of the best sort. |

Today originals of this album are rare as golddust and among 2 or 3 others, the most valuable collectors item from South Africa. Many collectors who have basically everything in their collection are missing this one. The music is heavier, the lyrics full of political statements, more psychedelic and a bigger step down into the musical underground. The 14 minutes track "Awakening" is really amazing with tons of great organ parts and extra heavy fuzz-guitar. |

The music is closer to the album AWAKENING without the brass arrangements. More organ based compositions with beautiful vocals and guitars. We must mention here the amazing drumming and bass which holds the complete tracks together and drives them forwards. As musical comparison we would mention again the bands from the US and UK underground such as Electric Flag, Chicago and Keef Hartley Band. But we must say, if bands from South Africa where not banned in Europe and USA at the time the albums by THE THIRD EYE came out, they would have become as popular and even more as the mentioned bands from USA and UK. All 3 albums are killer albums and we would not want to miss one of them. |

HARDAL - Nasil? Ne Zaman?, Turkey 1978 (SHADOKS 113) CD: in jewelbox. This first album of the Turkish band HARDAL (mustard) with the title NASIL? ZE RAMAN? (wherefrom? whereto?) was recored in Turkey in 1979 by Sükrü Yüksel (guitar), Aydin Sencan (bass), Cahit Kukul (guitar) and Sedat Avci (drums). The band was only known by a very small insider-group, but those fans just adored Hardal. The secret of Hardal's small popularity is that in 1979 the Turkish rock scene was comatose. Cem Karaca left to Germany, Erkin Koray moved to Canada, Edip Akbayram got stuck because of his political ambitions. Only Baris Mancho was still on the road. To start a new band was tough times in Turkey. Hardal also recorded 2 later albums. The music is the best Turkish progressive Underground you can think of. Filled with guitars, synth sounds, great eastern vibe vocals and harmonies, pumping rhythms, as good as the best Koray tracks for sure. This album was never reissued before so we are sort of proud to present it to most people for the first time. |

OTIS WAYGOOD - Ten Light Claps And A Scream, South Africa 1971 (SHADOKS 108) LP 600 numbered / glossy heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing CD: in jewelbox. "It was the worst of times in Johannesburg white suburbs. The Beatles were banned on state radio. Haircut regulations were merciless. Life was an unutterable hell of boredom and conformity, but lo: salvation awaited. They came from the north in the summer of '69, armed with axes and Scarabs, long hair streaming behind them, and proceeded to slay the youth of the nation with an arsenal of murderous rock tunes. They were the biggest thing our small world had ever seen, our Led Zeppelin, our Black Sabbath, maybe even our Rolling Stones. They were Otis Waygood". After two albums released on EMI S.A. the album "Ten Light Claps And A Scream" was simply the best Otis Waygood record and among collectors the most sought after. The music is influenced by the British underground for sure. Bloodwin Pig, Steamhammer, IF are working in the same field. Great guitars and vocals, blues influenced underground rock, sax, organs and well crafted composition and arrangements making this album a unique masterpiece. Julian Laxton of Freedoms Children was the producer. Rob Zipper: Vocals, guitars, saxophones, Ivor Rubenstein: Vocals, percussion, Leigh Sagar: Guitars, organ, Hawaiian guitar, Benny Miller: Guitars, Alan Zipper: Bass |

SUCK - Time To, South Africa 1971 (SHADOKS 109) CD: in jewelbox. In their short history (only 8 months) Suck made one album and created more mayhem than most bands do over a 10 year career. Suck where from Johannesburg, S.A.. But what an album. 'Time to Suck' is a highly charged package of manic drumming, scorching guitars and sublime wailing vocals. Political statements on stage (in South Africa) against the war. This one is not for folk fans, no moonshine mellow candle, this one kicks ass and is pure adrenaline, a real pusher. If you think Black Sabbath, Uriah Heap, Deep Purple, MC 5 and Grand Funk Railroad are your tip of the iceberg you might consider this one as your future favored album. Full of hard-psychedelic tracks with Louis "Moose" Forer on bass, Steve "Gil" Gilroy on guitar, who worked in UK with Mick Abrahams from Jethro Tull, Saverio Grande on drums and Andrew Ionnides on vocals. Again, Julian Laxton from Freedoms Children was the producer. |

HUGO FILHO - Paraibo, Brazil 1978 (SHADOKS 110) LP 450 numbered / glossy heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing / insert CD: in jewelbox. "Everything began in 1977 when the poet, Antônio de Pádua Carvalho invited me to create melody for his poetries. At that time I was lead guitarist of the band " The Gentlemen "(a garage northwest group that included Zé Ramalho (who released the wonderful DLP together with Lula Cortez) in one of his line-ups and recorded a rare LP and one 45).. For this unique project we invited Zé Ramalho, the musician and composer Elísio Alexandrino (Golinha), to control the 4 channels tape recorders the musician Enilton Araújo, the 12 strings viola arrangements where done by Irapuan (Pupu), drummer Edmilson (Crauna), percussionby special guest Zé Crisólogo and Hugo Filho (Hugo Leão) nylon guitar, bass, keyboards and art direction". This LP is really special, Brazil charm and poetic words. Even in Brazil an incredible rare album, only 500 pressed given to friends and sold in shops, the first private pressing in this country. If Sacros, Lula Cortez, Mutantes and El Congreso is something you like, you will love this one. Lot´s of folk elements which devolves in twisted endings. Something you want to play to your new girl on a crazy summer night. And for your guys in NY with Brazilian roots (Arto Lindsay) this is something you should play on your next party. A great album this is. |

STRANGE - Souvenir Album, USA 1974/76 (SHADOKS 106) LP 450 numbered / glossy heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing / Insert CD: in jewelbox. The Strange are from Olympia, WA close to the Canadian border. The Strange are Tom Hackett, Robert Rensel, David Chamberlain, Rick Rackleff plus Mike Pitcher, Don Morris & Carl Dexter. This art-rock-underground band recorded the Souvenir Album over a period of several years released in a tiny pressing in 1976 on the Yantis Record label. With a touch of westcoast music and lots of Mothers of Invention influences, this album is really something special. As special as The Spoils Of War and as complex as Time and Think Dog, with Frank Zappa style wah-wah guitar, great vocals, piano, effects, some horns, and a well-balanced mixture of heavy psych guitar tracks and twisted underground folk tunes. If you think the first Spoils Of War album on Shadoks is a great album and the early Mothers albums are the ones you always kept you will be very very happy with this album. If you want to hear what the band sound like now you should check out THE GRUFS-Coming Back For More album |

LIVERPOOL - Por Favor, Sucesso + EP LIVERPOOL - Marcelo Zona Sul Brazil 1969 / 1970 (SHADOKS 107) CD: in jewelbox. Liverpool is one of our favored bands from Brazil. The LP Por Favor, Sucesso (Please, Success) comes together with the ultra-rare 7 inch EP Marcelo Zona Sul, a Brazilian movie from 1970. (you can watch a film-clip on youtube.com) This Flower Power Art Rock album stands out among the other Brazilian Psych album. It is as good as Modolu 1000 but with better composed songs, influenced by the British Underground, with great guitars, hammond, effects, complex compositions, uplifting vocals with lots of soul, Allman Brothers style wailing guitars, wah-wah, sometimes sweat and mellow, sometimes extra heavy psychedelic---all with a great touch of Brazilian music. Perhaps one of the best albums from South America. All original tracks, 19 in total (including the 6 EP tracks). Enjoy this one |

SACROS - Same, Chile 1973 (SHADOKS 098)LP 450 numbered / glossy heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing, insert CD: in jewelbox. Sacros ('The Sacred') was a Chilean rock band inspired by the spiritual passion and veneration for the great gods of South America, such as Quetzalcoatl, the Plumed Serpent, god of the ancient Mayas and Viracocha, Lord of Tiahuanaku in the Andes mountains. Sacros recorded the debut LP on the state label IRT and the production was destroyed by the militaries. Only very few copies survived from destruction. The music goes in the same direction as Los Jaivas, Los Blops and El Congreso (all from Chile) and Lula Cortez from Brazil. It has a great 12 string Rickenbacker sounds, effects, great vocals and rhythms with an experimental touch. You can call this easy one of the rarest albums from Latin America since only a handful of copies survived. Patricio Panussis (guitar & vocals) Hernan Valdovinos (bass & vocals) and Tomas R. Herrera (percussion). The band recorded only this one album in 1973. Here is a link for a great Spanish review from Chile (with photos): http://www.lamusica.emol.com/detalle/index.asp?idnoticia=342220 |

JW FARQUHAR - The Formal Female, USA 1972 (SHADOKS 099)
LP 450 numbered / glossy heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing CD: in jewelbox. All tracks where recorded by JW Jarquhar in 1972. The songs on THE FORMAL FEMALE were written as an outcry against the materialistic nature of the woman during that time period in 1972. Many will tell you it is still that way. JW had recently extricated himself from a 10 year marriage and the words from this experience fit the lyrics on the album still. During that time he lived by himself in a 3rd floor apartment in Philadelphia. It was a street with a lot of traffic. Car horns, busses, police sirens, fire engines, screams, and sometimes even gunshots filled the airwaves. For this reason he sealed up the windows and any other openings with sound proofing foam. This was necessary because his music was recorded in there. JW was the instrumentalist; rhythm guitar, lead guitar, drums, vocals, and bass. However he could not play them all at once, so he purchased a four track simulsync Teac recorder...professional version. This allowed him to record on one track and then play it back and separately record on a second, third, and fourth track. The original tracks were recorded at 15 IPS. A final mix was then made in stereo with yet a fifth overdub, when needed. At that time other effects were limited. It is amazing electric fuzz album full of effects and it's an masterpiece such as DR. Hooker. Extra heavy psychedelic. |

MORNING AFTER - Blue Blood, UK 1971 (SHADOKS 103) LP 450 numbered / glossy heavy sleeve / engraved artwork / 180 gram pressing Here we have a completely unknown album from England from 1971. Morning After recorded this LP as a demo only to acquire a record deal (as so many bands did in the late 60´s early 70s). So the album was pressed only in tiny amounts. The recording was with home studio equipment. Some of the tracks on the album sound like Blues Rock from the late Fleetwood Mac and some have a more progressive touch such as Shuttah. Great & heavy guitar work, fuzz and wah-wah all over the album, snotty vocals, all own great compositions. The album title Blue Blood assumed a noble wealthy family and a member of the establishment, but the music and lyrics are just the opposite. The music on this album is pure British Underground, electrifying, pure and raw, no Sgt. Pepper sing a long tunes. Just superb! |

FREEDOMS CHILDREN - ASTRA - BATTLE HYMN OF THE BROKEN HEARTED HORDE - GALACTIC VIBES South Africa 1969/70/71 (SHADOKS 100-101-102) CD each CD's in jewelcases Finally the box is out, after 2 years of struggle and hard work with tons of help from collectors in South Africa, England, Austria & USA. Since all master-tapes where lost in a big fire we had to master from original vinyl. We have used 2 or 3 mint copies of each album to make the best possible master. All 3 albums will be out in original gatefold sleeves, either glossy or matt laminated, just like the original, with the original labels. We won't say much about the music here because most people know what FREEDOMS CHILDREN sound like. All 3 albums are possibly the most wanted albums ever from S.A. Some call them the PINK FLOYD of S.A. and if the political situation in S.A. would have been easier they would have had the same status in the international music market as Pink Floyd does. Beautiful composer songs, amazing instrument work, well-crafted guitar work and great singers. The extra heavy prog. sound beats most albums in the same direction coming from UK or USA. 3 master-pieces! |

DAYS - Same, Denmark 1970 (SHADOKS 096) LP 450 numbered / glossy heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing, insert CD: in jewelbox. The Danish group ”Days” was formed in Copenhagen in the winter 1967/68 by Peter Lindhe (drums), John Kjaergaard (vocals/rhythmguitar), Ole Fester (vocals/bass) and Lars Reinau (vocals/leadguitar). The band’s repertoire was mainly rock and blues oriented with cover versions of songs from John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, Cream, Jimi Hendrix and Rolling Stones. During 1968/69 Peter Lindhe and Lars Reinau started writing original material to the band and the repertoire started changing from rock/blues cover versions to self composed more lyrical songs with elements of Beatles, Procol Harum and (early)Deep Purple. In 1969 Jørn Anker (Hammond organ) joined the band and he too started contributing new original songs to the band. The Days LP was recorded in the early summer of 1970 and in 1971 the band split up. Days is one the the rarest albums from Denmark which also came out on Spectator (Blues Addicts, Terje Jesper & Joachim, Moses). It is full of amazing prog tunes which great organ elements and strong fuzz guitar. A killer album from beginning to end. |

BLUES ADDICTS - Same, DENMARK 1970 (SHADOKS 093) CD: in jewelbox. There where only 4 good and rare albums on the Danish Spectator label: Terje, Jesper & Joachim (which we have just done on LP and now on CD), Moses (we are still working on a deal), Days (we are about to negotiate a deal) and the rarest of them all BLUES ADDICTS. What a guitar work this is. Ivan Horn really kicks ass with his extra heavy guitar. As good as the heavy CREAM songs, in parts as creative as JIMI HENDRIX. The musical range and the guitar style is as good as the best early ERIC CLAPTON work with the far out techniques of Jimi Hendrix. All own composition, long tracks, extra heavy guitar, English vocals & heavy drum sounds. Ivan Horn: guitars, vocals & kazzo, Mich Brink: bass, Gibber Thomsen: vocals & congas, Henning Aasbjerg: drums. If Spectator would have kept rock music their musical style instead of switching to Jazz, those 4 bands would have been successful on the international rock circus. |

LES TEMPS HEUREUX - En ces jours, FRANCE 1972 (SHADOKS 094) LP 450 numbered / heavy sleeve - front: textured with engraved artwork - back: picture sleeve / 180 gram pressing "Les Temps Heureux" (The Happy Times) made only a tiny demo pressing in 1972, France, under the title "En Ces Jours" (In Those Days). Acid folk with poetry lyrics, loner vibes, Psychedelic guitars, well crafted songs, 6 of them in English, 2 in French words. 4 guys hanging out night by night to create their first album in a basement studio following there one and only ambition. This album is very special and became instantly one of the real musical surprises for us. It beats most UK albums of the same style. They must have had really happy times in those days, very creative times full of aspiration. |

THE CONTENTS ARE - Through You, USA 1967 (SHADOKS 090) CD: in jewelbox. The Contents Are: Dave Neumann - guitar, vocals, Paul Staack - drums, vocals, Larry Smith - bass, vocals and Craig Hute - lead guitar, vocals from Iowa. The Contents Are was one of many sixties bands from the Quad City’s fertile garage music scene. With labels/studios like Fredlo and IGL, it was a very healthy regional area for bands with an unusually high per capita for record releases. Up until the recent discovery of an original copy a couple years ago, it was only rumored to exist and remained an enigma with hardcore record collectors. In most cases, the Contents Are were only known by astute collectors for their two excellent 45 releases (non-LP). Well the mystery is over, and here’s your chance to hear one of the rarest & greatest garage records ever recorded. Here’s the story about the record: Four high school seniors from Iowa decide to release an album of all original tunes, and was exclusively sold at their live shows. Originally released on the Rok label (a subsidiary of the already obscure Fredlo label) in 1967 with only 100 copies pressed. These guys were not your typical garage band talented players, professional grade vocalists and no cover songs!!! Their music is a nice blend of garage rock with hints of hipster folk and early psychedelic influences. As good if not better as other similar top shelf rarities like Mystery Meat and the Bachs, but no major quantity find making original copies of the Contents Are ten times rarer. Get it or miss it! |

INSTANT ORANGE - Same, USA 1973 (SHADOKS 091) 2 LP 450 numbered / glossy heavy GATEFOLD sleeve / 180 gram pressing / insert CD: in jewelbox. Besides home to the Hells Angels, farmers and citrus grooves, San Bernardino, California was also where Instant Orange lived and released their first single in 1968. The band forged ahead and released another single (1973), album (1973) and two ten inch eps (1974 & 1975). All of their releases were small pressings of 100 copies and to this day, Instant Orange remains virtually unknown. Their homemade sound is a refreshing reflection of their west coast folk-rock influences that were so prevalent during the sixties and early seventies. All original tracks with inspiration from bands like the Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Love, Sandy Bull and others. Songs full of electric and acoustic guitars with nice doses of McGuinnesque 12 string riffing as well as many unsuspecting surprises (antiquated electronic effects, rambling rural explorations, long jams, experimental moves, stoner banter and other weirdness between songs, caveman fuzz, etc). A solid listen with enough original imagination to keep it interesting without the band creating an identity crisis by trying too hard to be something else than themselves. Here it all on this limited double album, but grab it before it becomes elusive like some of San Bernardino's motorcycle riding inhabitants. TERRY WALTERS, RANDY LANIER & LYNN McCURDY are INSTANT ORANGE with the help of Joe Bianchi & Bob Lautz. |

Terje Bandholdt on drums, Jesper Schmidt on guitar and Joachim Ussing on bass recorded this album in 1970 for famous Spectator Records in Denmark (Moses / Blues Addicts / Days). For the first time reissued in original cover plus insert with many photos and band-story, this amazing heavy psych album beats most releases from Denmark, in quality and rarity. Massive guitar action all over, great heavy vocals and pumping rhythms lifts this album out of there grooves. Beside Moses the best heavy psych album from Northern Europe. |

SHARK MOVE - Chede Chokra's, Indonesia 1970 (SHADOKS 086) LP 450 numbered / heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing / insert CD: in jewelbox. Shark Move started playing in Bandung, Indonesia in 1970 and was founded by Benny Soebardja who play lead guitar and sings. Shark Move is one of the Indonesian rock pioneers who combined rock music with traditional harmonies and progressive sounds. Some songs on this LP using English lyrics, while other bands at that time where still playing sweet music, this is really an experimental recording. Unfortunately at the end of 1970 the keyboard player passed away so Benny decided not to continue with his band and formed a new on named Giant Step. A very complex prog album which is as strong as many good UK albums of the same period but it has this little extra which makes this album unique and great. |

This record beats most others of the same kind. Amazing heavy fuzzguitar, great vocals, organs, the whole thing. If you like Brigade, Butterfingers we think this is even better.. Hideously rare hard-rocker from Los Angeles, CA. Try to imagine Dragonfly merging with Canned Heat and you'll be close. As only 200 copies where pressed as original LP´s and sold by band at gigs, this record is very rare! If you like crude, powerful heavy rock, this one is not to be missed. C.F. |

PAUL ADOLPHUS - The Dawn Wind, JAPAN 1973 (SHADOKS 076) CD: in jewelbox. The Australian artist Paul Adolphus recorded the album in Kyoto/Japan. My first visit to Japan was in 1968 after living in India and Sri Lanka. My wife at the time arrived in Kyoto, and had our first child there. We really loved it. We returned to Sweden then went back to Kyoto and had our second child there. We lived in a two hundred year old farm house in a village outside Kyoto. It was a great scene at the time. Japanese artists, bohemians, and visiting foreigners making art music poetry etc. I was playing music with different people, then developed a musical relationship with Mitsu Harada. We did concerts and toured to other cities in japan together. Before leaving Japan Mitsu organised to record the album together. Mitsu’s father was the grand master of a calligraphy school. In a large room in the school Mitsu set up mikes and a big stereo recorder consul. Most of the playing was by Mitsu and myself, an American friend played a little guitar and percussion to fill some holes. A group of friends sat around, so it was a bit of a living room concert feel. It was my material, Mitsu engineered as well as playing. I think there were 200 copies pressed, the covers were hand made, so it was released into the small arts community of Kyoto and Tokyo. Not long after the recording I travelled with the family to Australia, I had been away from here for a decade. I worked on a lot of projects here, composing for theatre and dance. I had a group called Living Music- an African drummer, Indian tabla, didjeridoo, winds etc. It was earlydays, not too many people were ready for world music. Incredible rare and sought after mellow folk album with beautiful songs and harmonies, like a Japanese version of EXTRADITION. |

A full blown progressive band with songs, techniques which reminds a lot of bands such as IF, Gracious and Gravy Train. Great keyboards, fuzz guitar which turns the music in something Mothers of Invention like plus flute & sax, real complex songs and very little vocal. These guys can play for sure and they are instrumentalists . Originally released in 1972 on the famous Deroy label. Supposedly only 2 known copies of this baby exist. |

MICK STEVENS - Lady Sunrise, UK 1972 (SHADOKS 088) LP 450 numbered / heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing / engraved artwork / insert Shortly after Mick's first album "See The Morning" while waiting for the Deroy pressings he started working on "Lady Sunrise". The songs of this concept album where created during a particular turbulent emotional period. We think most of these songs are some of his best and as usual, the lyrics where written with his own blood - both metaphorically and in reality. Mick composed all songs and played all instruments, so this album was recorded sound on sound. 12 great songs, bittersweet and very touchy. Just perfect as we would have expect from Mick Steven's music. |

RAYNE - Same, USA 1979 (SHADOKS 089) LP 450 numbered / heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing / engraved artwork / insert CD: in jewelbox. Frank Saucier and his 3 brothers formed Rayne in 1977, located in the New Orleans suburbia. They have recorded the album with good home equipment with no overdubs. The original album (the black album as they called it) was only pressed 300 times and during a moment of frustration they took a box of the album and shot them with a shotgun. So not many left to sell. The music is first class psych rock, strong compositions, great guitars & vocals, just everything right, something you would expect from a band located in New Orleans. Southern spirit and the tough guys don't dance thing, they play music instead. |

BRUSH - same, JAPAN 1971, (SHADOKS MUSIC) CD: in jewelbox. The original private pressing from Japan was so far one of the unsolved mysteries which appeared first in the 3001 book from Hans Pokora. It´s so rare that it took nearly 2 years to locate the album. This is Masayoshi Takanaka`s (pre Flied Egg) ever first recording, released as a tiny private pressing in Japan. The music is westcoast orientated hard psych with a progressive touch. All original material and really wellproduced. This is a concept album (like Ceremony) which comes (like the original) on blue vinyl with 24 page massive booklett. |

THE FINAL SOLUTION - Same, PUERTO RICO/USA 1967 (SHADOKS 077) LP limited heavy vinyl, laminated heavy cover Here is finally the album many garage where waiting for. This album is on almost all want-list we have seen but never showed up. A mystery until now, very much like MYSTERY MEAT years ago. 5 guys and a girl recorded this album in 1967 in Puerto Rico. The album was pressed in USA on a private label. The musicians where fellow students at the university of Puerto Rico studying Architecture. Alexy Rodriguez, who was a musician of THE CHALLENGERS and who designed the cover for FINAL SOLUTION could not locate an original album to master from. Many years later a well-known collector had the luck of finding a near mint original copy which was the basis of this reissue. Really strong guitar and organ based garage sound, rough and beautiful at the same time. Mostly male vocals, all original 12 songs, English lyrics. Just great and so good we can solve another mystery. |

EDIP AKBAYRAM - same, Turkey 1972-74 (SHADOKS MUSIC 067) 2 CD: in jewelbox. Edip Akbayram is the top of the BIG 3 of turkish delights (Erkin Koray, Baris Mancho & Edip). The best Psych tracks from his first 2 albums and many singles (like in the other Shadoks release of Erkin Koray), 22 tracks, 90 minutes of music. His band DOSTLAR formed the songs into something which takes you on an eastern trip, full of fuzz guitar, electric sas and great percussions. Edip's dark voice make you shiver and you feel like dancing right away. This is as good as Erkin Koray with a deap spirit and very political words. One of the best albums we have released the past 3 or 4 years. FINGLETOAD, STRANGE & SIHO - mazzola, USA 1969/70, (SHADOKS 055) 2 CD: in jewelbox. The first album was recorded in 1969 in Chicago as Fingletoad & Strange. Only very few acetates where pressed. A year later the band recorded another album as Fingletoad, Strange & Siho under the titel Mazzola. Perhaps less than 100 records where pressed. This band of young bohemian Americans recorded 2 albums with all original songs. The music takes the listener into a Psychedelic Trip merging imaginary landscapes with Teenage Angst. Clearly influenced by the top musicians at the time, The Beatles , Neil Young and Jimi Hendrix, they undoubtedly manage to create a sound all their own ranging from beautiful lyrical ballads with harmony vocals to over the top Fuzz and Feedback frenzy. Professional execution but still retaining a Garage atmosphere and production, creates the perfect mix for one very special DLP.. |

BORN AGAIN - Pagan, USA 1969/70 (SHADOKS 073) CD: in jewelbox. From the ashes of the band "Red Mountain" rose Born Again. Originally from Marin County in Northern California the band traveled to Los Angeles to try to find fortune and fame. Local producer Roger Dollarhide took the boys under his wing and recorded tracks with them in late '69 and early '70 at Sun West Studios in Hollywood. Led by the tasteful guitar playing of Larry Otis and the soulful vocals of Bryce Sullivan, Born Again was a very versatile band that created a hybrid style all their own. Whether it's a country tinged ballad ala KAK ("She's Gone") or an eerie guitar psych instrumental ("Laura's Waltzing" from the 1970 Film Soundtrack from "The Velvet Vampire") these boys were one tight unit that delivered the goods. A chance meeting with the legendary Pat Boone is documented in the LP's extensive liner notes. THIS CD VERSION HAS 7 BONUS TRACKS / total playing time 67 minutes ...A PREVIOUS ROCKADELIC RELEASE |

THINK DOG - Dog Days, USA 1969/70, (SHADOKS 063) LP limited, heavy vinyl, heavy cover, 2-page insert CD: in jewelbox. This is the second album after "TIME-before there was", recorded in 1969/70 in New York City. Lynn David Newton, Tom McFaul, Richard Stanley, Bob Stuhler (the drummer of HOT TUNA) and David Rosenboom (on 1 track) recorded 60 minutes of creative music which was never released before. Again, this is a musical masterpiece, wellcomposed, wellcrafted, touchy and twisted songs with a big influence from the British Underground. On some tracks the vocals sound like Robert Wyatt in the early 70´s. If you like the Canterbury sound, artrock with Underground roots, you will love this one. The album has 16 tracks, 45 minutes of music. |

HEADSTONE CIRCUS - same, USA 1968/70, (SHADOKS 061) CD: in jewelbox. This project turned out to be a real beauty. The band was formed in 1966 by Glenn Faria (who also released some solo music on WorldInSound). This album was recorded in 1968-70. On the first spin it reminds of Crosby Stills, Nash & Young - 4 way street electric sides. It is so well-composed and performed. Also some of the better Neil Young albums might go in the same direction. But it has that extra weird touch. "Around 1966, Nick Bonis, Mike Johnstone, Randy Pope, and I formed a psychedelic band. On Halloween night we went to an old cemetery, dropped acid, and spent a very strange night among the tombstones. The tombstones appeared to be melting and taking on animal shapes. Some of us saw spirits, and I'm not sure what I saw, but it was disturbing. Afterwards, we referred to that night as the "Headstone Circus". It seemed appropriate to call ourselves "Headstone Circus" as a band so we did". Enjoy this amazing westcoat album which was recorded in Washington D.C. |

PETE FINE - Northstar, USA 1977, (SHADOKS 056) LP limited, heavy vinyl, heavy cover. Finally here is the second solo album by guitar wizard Pete Fine recorded 2 year after his first album "On A Day Of A Crystalline Thought". This album "Northstar" sound a bit more tight with same fuzz guitar but with better song structures. Some tracks are instrumentals which blow guitar lovers away. Others have female and male vocals with a touch of west-coast sound. If there is a guitarist in this music scene we adore Pete Fine would be among the top 5. One of our best Shadoks releases. Pete Fine - Lead Guitar / Mark Wolfe - Vocals, Rhythm Guitar, Harmonica / Diane Palocek - Vocals / Geton Wolfe - Flute / Steve Harris - Bass / Steve Hamblin - Drums http://www.petefine.com |

MICK STEVENS - See The Morning / No Savage Word, UK 1972/75 (SHADOKS MUSIC) 2 CD: in jewelbox. Both amazing rare LP´s who where pressed at Deroy studios. THOS ARE THE BEST DEROY ALBUM so far. Loner vibe, beautiful vocals and the music is just great. Mick passed away sadly many years ago but his amazing music will stay forever. His sweet composition (real compositions on paper) and lyrics have a bittersweet touch and are much darker as they sound at the first place. From the first album only 30 where pressed ever only 3 with hand-drawn pictures and writings (in red with his own blood!). From the second album 50 where pressed. If you like Michael Angelo with a Billy Nichols touch, this one is yours. The recording quality is top major studio but made at his home. Half of the tracks on both albums are electric the other half acoustic, a full band behind each song. Those 2 albums are completely unknown so far.. Look out for his 3rd and 4th album out on Shadoks Music.. |

IOTA - Same, USA 1970, (SHADOKS MUSIC) Previous released by Rockadelic on LP (another cooperation such as Framework, Brain Police, Peacepipe, Fate, Shiver). "From the archives of the legendary El Paso, Texas Suemi label comes this previously unreleased psych masterpiece by Iota. This 4 piece band tore up Texas before re-locating to Memphis to record for Hi Records in the late 60's. They released two great 45's, including the amazing 'Within These Precincts' in 1971. Deemed too dark and disturbing for commercial radio, these two releases went nowhere and the band went their separate ways after two years of playing and recording. We have compiled the best tracks recorded in both Memphis and El Paso to put together what we feel is one of the finest Texas psych rock LP's ever released.". |

SHUTTAH - The Image Maker vol 1 & 2, UK 1971 (SHADOKS MUSIC) 2CD: in jewelbox. The rarest Psych LP from England, only 1 known copy, a perfect acetat. This is a real Underground concept album with a progressive touch. Needs a few spins to get it right. Wellcrafted songs, great vocals, soundeffects, organ and heavy fuzzguitar. Could be one of the better albums on Vertigo label with a good dose of Acid in it. This album really takes you on an Underground trip to London 1971. |

| CIRCULATION - Tank Tracks, UK 1969, (SHADOKS MUSIC) LP: extra heavy texture sleeve, engraved artwork and 180 gr. Pressings, limited Real Garage sound like early VU. Most songs by the band, wellcrafted with the right spirit. Not as perfect as the other Deroy but really stoned and trippy with cheezy organ and raw guitars. Beside Complex, Parameter and Candida Pax the rarest and maybe best album on this label. Don´t expect a perfect production as many other UK underground albums. This is real Underground.... |

| SHIVER - Same, USA 1972 (SHADOKS MUSIC) CD: in jewelbox with many extra tracks Extra heavy Psych killer, A PREVIOUS ROCKADELIC RELEASE. Recorded in 1972 SHIVER was based in San Francisco playing many venues as well as Hells Angels parties. If you´re into Blue Cheer and MC5 this is for you. Amazing driving guitar assault, rural vocals and drums who keep it tight together. An acid trip to S.F. Underground. |

For many collectors this is the best unknown Underground release ever. THERE ARE NO GREATER HEROES. |

| JUAN DE LA CRUZ - UP IN ARMS PHILIPPINES 1971 (SHADOKS MUSIC) CD: in jewelbox with 30 minutes extra livetracks. AMAZING! Here is the unknown Juan De La Cruz album released in 1971. It is there first album. Value at least $ 2000. Wally Gonzales on the leads plus 4 more guys. Beautiful heavy Psych Rock jammer, better than all the other albums by that band incl. Gonzales & Hanopol solo albums. Have a look at Hans Pokoras new book " 2001 Record Collector Dreams" where this album is featured. |
||||
| BRAIN POLICE, USA 1968 (SHADOKS MUSIC) CD: in jewelbox with 10 extra songs. This band from San Diego played many concerts with famous bands. They only released this testpressing and never made an official record. The music is absolutely perfect Fuzz guitar psych with great rhythm guitars, organs and St. Pepper-style vocals. With more luck this band could have been as famous as Strawberry Alarm Clock. They played on many bills together. The music is not as soft. It has a much stronger output than most of the famous bands the played together with. We know of 5 originals. Every song a hit. A PREVIOUS ROCKADELIC RELEASE |
||||
| MERRY AIRBRAKES, USA 1973 (SHADOKS MUSIC) CD: in jewelbox Raw Psych with bluesy touch from Nam veterans, actually the first post-Vietnam record. Amazing songs, so wonder why this never made it onto a major label release even Country Joe McDonald used 1 song from this album. Bill Homans great voice is getting you. He, his brother Peter plus 4 other musicians recorded this album for a private studio to get attantion from a big label. Some songs sound like Cpt. Beefheart doing Vietnam songs, others are fragile and MOST beautifull. We love it forever. 1 of 20 I´m going to take to an island... |
||||
| THE SPOILS OF WAR, USA 1969 (SHADOKS MUSIC) CD: in jewelbox with 3 extra songs. My favoured release of this year, LP and 7 inch EP, from mastertapes. Never pressed before so you don´t have to look for originals, folks. Heavy Psych with tiny Folky edges plus electronic soundscapes like first album by Mothers of Invention. Has a connection to Mormos but only the musicians, not the music. This is real heavy Acid stuff, weird and twisted, stoned to max, pure LSD (Loud Screaming Distortions), Warning, people with fragile heart condition and emotionally unbalanced should not play this album.... |

WALFLOWER COMPLEXTION - same/When I´m Far From You, COLOMBIA 1967 CD: Double CD in jewelbox. 24 great GARAGE songs by THE WALFLOWER COMPLEXTION recorded and released in COLOMBIA only. Every Garage collectors wet dream. This is an American band who released the 2 albums in Colombia only. They where kids of US Goverment staff in Columbia. The music is pure an raw Garage. Great guitars all over, beautiful vocals, just the right sound. Originals, forget it. Here is the first chance to own them both... |

| BUTTERFINGERS, USA 1970 (SIX LITTLE INDIANS) CD: in jewelbox. This album was released as a testpressing only and recorded in the US Midwest 1970. Nothing is known about this album, a mystery like JUNGLE. 10 great heavy tracks loaded with extra heavy fuzz-guitar, organ and souly male vocals. The guy sings like a male Janis Joplin, the music sounds like a tough version of Big Brother & Holding Comp. Nothing for sweet Folkpsych fans. This is big-boys-stuff. Heavy and full os soul. It bites. |
