NEW for late May 2013
LP

VICTORIA - Kings, Queens & Jokers, USA 1971 (SHADOKS 065)
LP 400 numbered / heavy red-velvet sleeve + engraved artwork/ 180 gram pressing / insert - 3 bonus tracks -
Locally New Jersey demo release (200 made), beyond rare fantastic concept psych beauty, maybe 5 or 6 known copies. 3 girls 1 guy. They tried to get attention from big labels but this never happend. They wanted him to sound like Blood Sweat & Tears. But this was not Greg's idea of music. The music has everything you need, like a wild version of early Moby Grape combined with New Dawn and C.A. Quintet, sometimes dreamy sometimes totally wild underground-psych, with female vocals and splattering leads, Titanic horns & destorted guitars. Sweet tunes turn into dark psychpower. TOTALLY STONED.

A previous Little Indian release, but this time with insert, 3 bonus tracks and many pictures.

LP
THE SUN - Tristan, UK 1971/73 (SHADOKS 154)
LP 500 numbered / heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing / 4 page insert
The time is anytime, for this love story, a ship is dipping trough the sparkling blue sea, sitting on deck are Tristan and Ysolde.
We have never seen or heard an album like this before. The music is stunning, the original package was outstanding, the whole presentation just beautiful. I am sure this album TRISTAN was not produced to sell. It came in a hand-laminated 10 inch tapes box, a booklet with all lyrics and two 10 inch hand-cut acetates.
The concept of the rock opera Tristan reminds me a lot of the two 12 inch acetates of "Shuttah - the image maker part 1+2". I am sure both album where produced in a excellent studio, with pro-musicians to inquire a deal for a release on a big label. So some promo guys out there should have some original copies.
The music is electric folk with a progressive touch, much better than most albums we have heard Britain, male and female vocals, wide range of instruments, great percussion and first class guitar & organ parts. Some songs more acoustic, some electric. A well balanced mixture of an underground concept album which beats most other UK albums of the same kind.
This album is a pure surprise. We just love it

RAIN - Make The Day Break, Norway 1974 (SHADOKS 152)
LP 500 numbered / heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing / 2 page insert
RAIN, Norway's most well kept secret, not anymore. After the first release of the RAIN album NORSK SUITE we all know how good this band sounds.
Very much like Frank Zappa and The Mothers, RAIN's complex compositions are based on the skills of modern classic composers such as Varèse and Strawinsky. As a strong influence they've mentioned Vanilla Fudge. Rain was Carl Jørgen Kiønig - drums, percussuion / Knut Heljar Hagen - organ, synthesizers, vocals / Åsmund Feidje - guitar, vocals.
This album "Make The Day Break" was recorded live in a studio in 1974. After "Norsk Suite" the music of this album takes you a step further. 4 more years developing musical skills, great composition, strong and tightly played.

The title song of the album is just superb, the whole album stunning. We wish we had more recordings of this great band. But that is all there is. A big surprise those 2 albums has been never released before. We love it and the music scene in Norway can be proud of this recording.

TSEE MUD - LSD Bacro, Venezuela 1969/71 (SHADOKS 142)
CD: in jewelbox
It may be possible that, until this release, the 3 names do not sound  familiar to lovers of “South American underground music”, but for any fan of good Venezuelan Hard Psych Rock of the 60´s-70´s, "Bacro" "Tsee Mud" and "Lsd" are really special bands and well known. Beside the other great album from Venezuela "Ladies WC" this release is as good and as important. The band has only release a couple of singles and played a lot of great live concerts. Those bands from José Romero on guitar changed names from LSD to TSEE MUD and to BACRO. In-between those bands José lived in USA and was part of the band "The Del-Vikings" which included a concert at the Madison Square Garden. José went back to Venezuela and continued playing with his band Barcro. All those tracks presented on this album here are extra strong and heavy psychedelic with amazing fuzz guitar and vocals and lots of acid moves. A really wild album all the way. You can hear: José Romero - guitar, Luis Emilio Mauri - bass, Raúl Rivas – drums, Jesus Toro - vocals (who played with Love Depression too)

DREAM - Get Greamy, Norway 1967 (SHADOKS 151)
CD: in jewelbox
THE DREAM - Get Dreamy is perhaps the most fantastic and unique underground album from Scandinavia. Recorded in 1967, it was the LP with legendary guitarist Terje Rypdal after the 2 albums he made with The Vanguards. A year later Terje recorded his first solo album also for Polydor. The album Get Dreamy has great original songs full of wild fuzz guitar, swirling hammond organ, sound effects and strong vocals. The musicals influences could be Cream and Jimi Hendrix with the lyrical touch of Procol Harum. All songs very well produced and recorded in Stockholm. Dream started straight away with an full album which was not common in the musical world in 1967. Most bands produced singles first. With a lot enthusiastic help from Norway, including Terje Rypdal, plus the cooperation of many photographers, we are happy to put this album out with a big poster insert including a great band story and many many unseen photos. The album was mastered in 24bit direct from the original master tapes. So the sound is really good and you can hear it in full stereo. So, this might be for us on of the most important releases of this year since this took so much work and passion. We just love this album.

You will hear: Terje Rypdal - guitar & vocals, Christian Reim - piano, organ & vocals, Tom Karlsen - percussion & vocals, Hans Marius Stormoen - bass & vocals

STEVE ATKINSON - Small Boats, UK 1980 (SHADOKS 152)
CD: in jewelbox - 2 bonus tracks -
There are not many underground/folk albums we are keen on putting out. The album Steve Atkinson - Small Boats is one we loved straight away. Steve was just not easy to find. So with some help from a student (Steve was a teacher) we where able to locate him. If you think the early Mick Stevens albums are cool, Tony Caro & John is a killer album and you love the tradition of British underground folk music, you will really like this album. Very well composed electric & acoustic songs with beautiful vocals, guitar, violin, recorder, cello, bass, chimes and clarinet, this albums is a little masterpiece. Recorded between 1980 and 1981.
Steve said: "My musical education came from the folk clubs of Bedfordshire, Fairport Convention, John Peel, West Coast bands like Love, Jefferson Airplane and the Doors, Punk, The Beach Boys and of course the Beatles". A very beautiful album which deserves a good spot as a shiny star in the folk music universe.
